Martina McBride was born on Martina Mariea Schiff on July 29, 1966 in Sharon, Kansa. She comes from a family of six. Her father’s name is Daryl Schiff while her mother’s name is Jeanne Schiff. In addition to her parents, Martina also has two brothers, Martin and Steve, and a sister, Gina.

She fell in love with singing and country music at a young age thanks to her father who always played country music for her listening pleasure. At the age of 8 Martina got her first gig in a band formed by her father, the Schiffters. After high school, she continued to sing with various bands in and around Kansas.

Martina McBride’s journey to music stardom is the stuff of fairy tales. In 1987, at the age of only 21, the young and talented singer founded her own music group. While looking for a space the group could rent for practice sessions, they came into contact with an audio engineer named John McBride. The two eventually formed a relationship and married the next year in 1988. A year later, in 1989, the couple decided to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, the linchpin of country music, to further their respective careers.

In Nashville, her husband worked on the production crew for various country artists. One of those her husband worked for was popular rock and roll country musician Garth Brooks. Martina’s inclination and passion for country music eventually caught the attention of Garth Brooks, who promised her that if she could win a record deal, she would open up to him on his tour. Martina and her husband immediately got to work on their demo tape, which secured them a record deal with RCA Nashville Records in 1991. Garth Brooks fulfilled his promise and Martina opened up his tours for him in the early 1990s. Spurred on by this, Martina McBride released her debut studio album in 1992 and hasn’t looked back since.

The country musician has released 13 studio albums to date and has given her many hits to her best.
