Bitsie Tulloch was born on January 19, 1981 in San Diego, California. She finished a double major in English and American Literature and Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard. She also graduated magna cum laude. She made her screen debut in an episode of The West Wing. She next starred on the web series Lonelygirl15. Around the same time, she mostly acted in low-budget films.

Her first lead role on television was on the TV series Quarterlife. After her recurring roles on Tyranny and Outlaw, she became known among mainstream audience as Juliette Silverton on Grimm. She has been playing the said role since 2011. In the 2010s, she has appeared in the films The Artist, Caroline and Jackie, Chronic and Concussion.
